Introducing Project Sydney
In a heartfelt endeavor to support pet parents navigating the challenging journey of pet loss, PUPS Pet Club proudly announces the launch of Project Sydney.
The passing of a cherished pet is a profoundly emotional experience, one that touches the lives of the nation’s 86.9 million pet families. Recent studies reveal that a staggering 85% of pet parents report experiencing grief symptoms comparable to losing human family members. Amidst this grief, many feel isolated and unsupported in their pain.
Project Sydney finds its inspiration in the personal journey of PUPS CEO Dan Rubenstein. His loss of Sydney, his beloved St. Bernard, to an inadequate dog daycare serves as the catalyst for this initiative. As the 25th anniversary of Sydney’s passing approaches, Dan reaches out to fellow pet parents in a heartfelt video.
Released during National Mental Health Awareness Month, Project Sydney offers a place for pet parents to share their stories, express their emotions, and find solace in the journeys of others by collecting pet parent’s stories and compiling them into a tribute.
Pet parents are encouraged to participate by:
Calling to leave a voicemail at 312-883-3636, mailing sydney@pupspetclub.com with their story, photos, or even videos of their beloved pets.
“Our goal is to provide a beacon of hope for those who are struggling with the loss of their beloved companions,” expresses Rubenstein. “We want them to know that their grief is valid and they’re not alone during this challenging time.”
A heartfelt video compilation will be curated and distributed as a tribute to the enduring memories of our beloved pets, ensuring their legacies live on. Join us in honoring these precious bonds and finding comfort in shared experiences through Project Sydney.
