PUPDATE! Meet the Team: Jenny Lovin, Experienced Dog Trainer
Jenny Lovin is passionate about making others happy. Whether that be serving drinks on the weekends, going to see foreign movies with friends in her film club or helping pet owners better understand their dog’s behaviors.
She initially became interested in animal care because she grew up in Northern Texas with plenty of family dogs closeby. Throughout her adult life, her roommates had dogs that she felt particularly bonded to after participating in their training classes. Eventually, she stumbled upon PUPS Pet Club’s website and really loved that we offered a “realistic career pathway” for her. Jenny enrolled in our Dog Training Academy to learn the ins and outs of dog training.
As a recent graduate of the PUPS Training Academy, Jenny loves learning from her peers and seeing how their training styles differentiate from one another. Learning other trainers’ approaches will definitely shape her training style in the future.
Jenny has plenty of valuable advice to give pet parents. She recommends that all pet owners, “be completely engaged with your dog” and make sure they are getting enough of whatever they need; whether that be exercise or attention. That way, if an unordinary behavior comes up with your dog, you will have a better understanding of what could’ve caused it and how to combat it. She also stresses that all pet parents should be constantly willing to learn. Dog training is an ongoing, everchanging and collaborative process that, “can’t magically be solved” overnight.
Jenny’s ideal day off would include visiting a local coffee shop, sitting in the sun with friends, catching a movie at The Music Box in Southport and then getting dinner at Arami Sushi in Ukranian Village. Jenny would like to adopt her own dog – preferably a beagle – in the near future. Until then, she’ll continue to train “all the good dogs” at PUPS Pet Club.
