Why Pack-Style Open Boarding?

Dogs are naturally social animals. Many dogs feel calmer, more secure, and more fulfilled when they are part of a group rather than alone. Pups Sleepovers is built around that instinct.

WHAT OUR OVERNIGHT BOARDING CLIENTS ARE SAYING

“…Lucy has had a few overnight stays there now too which have been great- I appreciate too that they contact us immediately if there’s anything off/any possible health concerns. Pups Sleepovers FAQs

Is Pups Sleepovers right for every dog?
Pups Sleepovers is designed for dogs who thrive in structured social environments.

Ideal candidates typically:

  • Enjoy daycare
  • Play appropriately in group settings
  • Are comfortable around new dogs and people
  • Can settle after activity
  • Do not display resource guarding or highly reactive behaviors

Every dog must pass a temperament evaluation prior to participating in a Sleepover. Our team carefully assesses play style, energy level, recovery time, and overall comfort in group dynamics.

If your dog prefers more solitude or becomes overwhelmed in social environments, our team will guide you toward the best boarding option for their individual needs.

How are dogs grouped together?
Group compatibility is one of the most important components of a successful Sleepover.

Dogs are thoughtfully grouped based on:

  • Size and play style
  • Energy level
  • Temperament
  • Social comfort
  • Behavioral history

We prioritize balanced pack dynamics. Groups are monitored throughout the stay and adjusted if needed to maintain safety and comfort.

This is structured social boarding — not random group housing.

Why is early arrival encouraged?
Early arrival allows dogs to:

  • Engage in healthy daytime play
  • Release excess energy
  • Build comfort within their group
  • Naturally wind down before bedtime

Dogs who have had appropriate physical and mental engagement during the day typically transition into evening routines more calmly and rest more soundly overnight.

While not mandatory, early arrival significantly supports a smooth Sleepover experience.

What does the evening routine look like?
Evenings are intentionally structured to promote calm and rest.

As bedtime approaches:

  • Group energy is gradually reduced
  • High stimulation play is phased out
  • Lights and activity levels are lowered
  • Dogs are guided into calmer interactions

The goal is to create a predictable, peaceful transition from active engagement to restful sleep.

This routine supports emotional regulation and reduces nighttime stress.

Is staff present overnight?
Yes.

A trained team member remains present alongside the pack throughout the night.

This means:

  • Continuous supervision
  • Immediate response if needed
  • Ongoing monitoring of group dynamics
  • Support for any dog who needs assistance

Overnight presence is a core component of Pups Sleepovers and a key differentiator in safety and care.

What if my dog doesn't settle overnight?
Every dog responds differently to new environments.

If at any point a dog shows signs of stress, discomfort, or difficulty settling, we provide separate rest accommodations.

Our goal is never to force a group setting. We adjust to what makes the dog feel safest and most secure.

Comfort and wellbeing always come first.

How are dogs fed during Sleepovers?
All meals are provided individually and separately.

Dogs are never fed in group settings. This allows us to:

  • Prevent resource guarding
  • Ensure each dog eats their own food
  • Monitor appetite and behavior

Fresh water is available at all times.

How is this different from daycare?
While Sleepovers include social engagement, they are not simply “extended daycare.”

Sleepovers incorporate:

  • Structured compatibility matching
  • Energy management throughout the day
  • Intentional evening wind-down routines
  • Overnight staff presence
  • Ongoing behavioral monitoring

The experience is designed specifically for overnight comfort and emotional regulation — not just daytime play.

What makes Pups Sleepovers different from traditional boarding?
Pups Sleepovers is a pack-style Open Boarding experience for socially appropriate dogs.

Instead of staying individually overnight, approved pups remain in a supervised open-room environment with compatible dogs.

For many social dogs, this type of structured community environment feels more natural and less isolating.

That said, every dog is different. Our team will help determine the right boarding style for your pup.

What if my dog requires medication?
Our team can administer approved medications according to provided instructions.

Please speak with your location prior to booking to review any medical or special care needs.

How do I know if my dog is Sleepover Ready?
The best first step is to speak with your Club team.

If your dog already attends daycare and demonstrates appropriate social behavior, they may be a strong candidate.

We will walk you through the evaluation process and ensure the environment is the right fit before confirming participation.
