PUPDATE! Meet The Team: Jazz Cooley, Experienced Dog Trainer
Jazz started bringing his new pup Nellie, to training at PUPS, in hopes of learning basic puppy obedience. At the time, he had no idea that this would eventually lead him into a new career! Nellie’s trainer quickly recognized a natural talent in Jazz, and asked if he had ever considered becoming a dog trainer. It seemed like a perfect opportunity for him to start a new career!
A recent graduate of the PUPS Training Academy, Jazz learned so much right off the bat. He was fascinated by the wide-range of training theories and approaches. However, PUPS Pet Club’s Expert Trainer, Ryan, helped him realize that each individual dog behavior doesn’t have one, solid solution because dog training should never have a “one size fits all” approach.
This realization was a huge turning point for Jazz, because he discovered that he has the liberty to develop his own training style as he gains more confidence in the field. His main goal is to help pet parents build better communication with their pups, because that will ultimately lead to a stronger relationship between them. He loves all dogs but has a big spot in his heart for big dogs. He especially loves Great Danes!
Jazz was born in Venezuela and raised in Columbia. He currently resides in Hawthorne Woods but commutes to Chicago. Jazz loves that you can do almost anything in Chicago within a reasonable price range and commute time. He especially loves the diverse culinary scene as he is a huge fan of Indian and Venezuelan food.
Jazz’s innate confidence, general curiosity and strong problem-solving skills will set him up for a great career in the dog training industry. We’re honored to have him as part of the PUPS Pet Club team!
