PUPDATE! Meet the Team: Jonathan Huang, Assistant General Manager
Sometimes, we’re lucky enough to have clients that evolve into employees. For instance, Jonathan requested training for his dog Kupo, a few months ago. Kupo was exhibiting extremely anxious behavior and he was eager to address it in training.
Jonathan enrolled in the Home and Train Bootcamp at PUPS Pet Club to address Kupo’s separation anxiety, fear of other dogs, excessive barking and general behaviors related to his past trauma. After four weeks of rigorous training, Kupo showed great progress! He became more confident at home, comfortable around other dogs and genuinely happier in his “new” life. This tremendous success is a big reason why Jonathan decided to pursue a career with PUPS.
Jonathan’s journey from training client to Assistant General Manager was definitely a quick one! But that’s bound to happen when you’re as kind, devoted and optimistic as Jonathan. He immediately showed great promise while working in our Lakeview Club by asking inquisical questions, sincerely caring for each animal in our care and constantly treating members with respect.
There are a lot of great things about being the Assistant General Manager of the PUPS Pet Club in Lakeview. One of which is hanging out with great team members. Jonathan says his favorite part of the day is watching the daycare attendants and pups have fun with each other.
He also says that working at PUPS has taught him to be more compassionate with every dog – no matter their temperament, energy level or breed. And now, he takes great pride in taking care of the fur-babies at PUPS Pet Club, Lakeview.
Not only is Jonathan a great Assistant General Manager, but he also has an extensive background in graphic design and science. Jonathan graduated from Berkeley with degrees in Art and Biology. He’s especially proud of the fact that he went “LinkedIn viral” for his graphic design work. Although he has spent most of his life in California, Jonathan is happy with the “change of pace” that Chicago provides. And we are grateful to have him (and Kupo) as part of our PUPS family!
